lavazza vitruvian
Lavazza's calendar 2009 signed by Annie Leibovitz.
In the hole world when you talk about express coffe, the first geographic asosiation that comes to your mind is with the "Bel Paese". Because
In tutto il mondo, quando si parla di caffè espresso, la prima associazione geografica che viene in mente è col Bel Paese. Why not combine this image with all other Italian national motto, like the pasta, the Vitruvian Man, and larger sets of historical art city? And 'this idea came to mind to creative Lavazza, who have so taken by a fashion photographer par excellence, Annie Leibovitz, the creation of a colorful 2009 calendar.

the titan mith
Titan is the generic name of six children of Uranus and Gaea (or Gaia) and their six sisters, Titanidi.
From the youngest of them, Kronos, who dethroned his father Uranus, was originally the Olympic race, which the god Zeus is greatest in the pantheon of Greece.
Zeus, the newest member of Kronos, in turn, dethroned his father, aided by the other Olympians and even the largest of the Titans, Ocean, who had remained on the sidelines when everyone else had supported their younger brother in the conquest of Cronus throne instead of his father Uranus.
This struggle, known Titanomachia, where the Titans are the protagonists, is told by Hesiod in the Theogony. It begins with the mutilation of Uranus by Cronus, the other Titans, who had been expelled from heaven by Uranus, Cronus returned to skirt, but later they were attacked by Zeus, when he became an adult, he wanted to take the place of the father .
The fight lasted for ten years and finally ended with the victory of Zeus - helped not only by the Olympics but also by Hecatonchires and Prometheus - which together with the other Olympians won the sky and crashed the Titans in Tartarus.
In October 1671 Thurs Domenico Cassini discovered a satellite of Saturn, named after the mythical Iapetus, Titan, son of Heaven and Earth, and a year later identified a second, which he called Rhea, wife of Saturn and mother of Zeus, Poseidon and Pluto.
Polifemo
"Here was a man cave, a monster,
That crude feed, alone, aloof,
And do not mix with others,
But only lived, he had soul unjust.
He was a giant monster, and not like
A man-eaters of bread, but sheer woody
On the lofty mountains, which is isolated from others. "
Scale of reduction
The scale of reduction is the constant ratio between the linear dimensions of the paper, ie the lengths graphics, and their distances on the surface of land or real lengths. The ratio of 1 / X indicates that measured an inch on paper equals X cm on the ground reality. The scale bar is built had the numerical scale. It is a straight line, divided so that the parties representing the new drive linear scale numerical reduction and its sub.
Since, due to the shape of the Earth, it is impossible to create a map which should reproduce the issue by showing the exact distribution of lands and seas, it must be scaled according to a particular relationship, said reduction scale, which expresses precisely , the ratio of the measured distance between two points on the map and the corresponding distance measured on the Earth's surface. A scale of reduction can be numerically and graphically.
In the numerical scale, the relationship between a measured length on the paper and the corresponding length on the earth's surface, is expressed in the form of division (1: N) in which the numerator (1) represents the unity and the divisor (N) expressed number of times in the real distances were reduced on paper. Thus, for example, "1:100,000 scale," it says: a scale to a hundred, it means that measured at 1 cm on the map correspond 100,000 cm, or 1 km on the ground. Since this ratio is expressed as a division, it is clear that the scale of a map will be as large as the smaller the divisor, and vice versa. For example, is larger than 1:100.000 1:500.000. In fact, the Earth's surface has been reduced to 100,000 times in the first case and 500,000 in the second. Therefore any element of Earth, as a city or a mountain, in the first paper is much larger and richer in details than in the second. 1:100.000
1 cm = 1 km
In addition to the numerical scale, often on the cards is also mentioned the scale, ie the graphical representation of the ratio of reduction.
It is divided into two segments parallel many equal sections, called graphic units, each of which is reported on the actual distance on Earth corresponds to 1 cm of the paper. In this way the calculation is easier and more immediate.

Wrench
A wrench or spanner is a tool used to provide grip and mechanical advantage in applying torque to turn objects—usually rotary fasteners, such as nuts and bolts—or keep them from turning.
In British English, spanner is the standard term. The most common shapes are called open-ended spanner and ring spanner. The term wrench refers to a type of adjustable spanner.[1]
In American English, wrench is the standard term. The most common shapes are called open-end wrench and box-end wrench. In American English, spanner refers to a specialized wrench with a series of pins or tabs around the circumference. (These pins or tabs fit into the holes or notches cut into the object to be turned.) In American commerce, such a wrench may be called a spanner wrench to distinguish it from the British sense of spanner.
Higher quality wrenches are typically made from chromium-vanadium alloy tool steels and are often drop-forged. They are frequently chrome-plated to resist corrosion and ease cleaning.
Hinged tools, such as pliers or tongs, are not generally considered wrenches.

history of the metric system
To determine the extent of a certain size, we use a unit of measure you like. For example, if you want to measure how long is the room where I am, I can use steps, feet, meters, and so on.
In the past, have been used different units of measurement, such as the ancient Egyptians used as a measure for the cubit lengths, ie the length of that part of the arm between the elbow and the middle finger.
The Greeks and the Romans used the foot up.
Until fairly recently, the different names adopted different units and, sometimes, even in the same country the units varied from region to region.
The presence of different units has always been an obstacle in trade. That is why France, in 1775, formed a committee of scientists chaired by Louis Lagrange, mathematician known. The committee had the task of creating a set of units for each size (length, weight, volume, etc. ..) that could be adopted in an unequivocal manner by different countries.
The new system was called the metric system was adopted and a bit 'from all the major nations of the world. France adopted him in 1795 and Italy in 1861.
It was not adopted, however, the United States of America and England. Britain adopted the metric system a few years ago.

International System of Units
The metric system (abbreviated to SMD) is the most widely used.
The metric system is said because it is derived from the Metro is the basic unit for length.
The other unit used to measure the areas, volumes, weights, and capabilities are derived from meters.
It is also said that every decimal units of measure and sub-multiples. The first are obtained by multiplying the basic units (meter, liter, kilogram, etc. ...) for 10, 100, 1000 and so on. The latter are obtained by dividing the basic units for 10, 100, 1000, etc. ..
And sub-multiples of the fundamental units are also known as secondary units.
The International System of Units (abbreviated SI from the French Système International d'Unités) is the modern form of the metric system and is Generally a system of units of measurement devised around seven base units and the convenience of the number ten. It is the World's Most Widely used system of measurement, Both in everyday commerce and in science.

"piccolo grande amore"
“...E lei
lei mi guardava con sospetto
poi mi sorrideva e mi teneva stretto stretto
