Wrench

A wrench or spanner is a tool used to provide grip and mechanical advantage in applying torque to turn objects—usually rotary fasteners, such as nuts and bolts—or keep them from turning.
In British English, spanner is the standard term. The most common shapes are called open-ended spanner and ring spanner. The term wrench refers to a type of adjustable spanner.[1]
In American English, wrench is the standard term. The most common shapes are called open-end wrench and box-end wrench. In American English, spanner refers to a specialized wrench with a series of pins or tabs around the circumference. (These pins or tabs fit into the holes or notches cut into the object to be turned.) In American commerce, such a wrench may be called a spanner wrench to distinguish it from the British sense of spanner.
Higher quality wrenches are typically made from chromium-vanadium alloy tool steels and are often drop-forged. They are frequently chrome-plated to resist corrosion and ease cleaning.

Hinged tools, such as pliers or tongs, are not generally considered wrenches.

San Andres

San Andres is a pre-Hispanic site of El Salvador, whose long occupation began around 900 BC As an agricultural town in the valley of Zapotitán the department of La Libertad. To determine the extent of a certain size, we use a unit of measure you like. For example, if you want to measure how long is the room where I am, I can use steps, feet, meters, and so on. 

In the past, have been used different units of measurement, such as the ancient Egyptians used as a measure for the cubit lengths, ie the length of that part of the arm between the elbow and the middle finger. 

The Greeks and the Romans used the foot up. 

Until fairly recently, the different names adopted different units and, sometimes, even in the same country the units varied from region to region. 

The presence of different units has always been an obstacle in trade. That is why France, in 1775, formed a committee of scientists chaired by Louis Lagrange, mathematician known. The committee had the task of creating a set of units for each size (length, weight, volume, etc. ..) that could be adopted in an unequivocal manner by different countries. 

The new system was called the metric system was adopted and a bit 'from all the major nations of the world. France adopted him in 1795 and Italy in 1861.
